● About
lie:
There’s nothing to do in baton rouge
So, we created Baton Rouge Updates to prove it!
They say there’s nothing to do in Baton Rouge — we say they’re lying! Since 2023, Baton Rouge Updates has been proving them wrong by sharing thousands of events, festivals, and hidden gems across the Capital Region. From food truck Fridays to live music under the stars, we’ve connected thousands of families, friends, and fun-seekers to the heartbeat of our city. And we’re just getting started — we can’t wait to connect with you!

CONNECTION THROUGH STORY
Every person, place, and event has a story worth telling. We bring them together to remind everyone that Baton Rouge isn’t just where we live — it’s who we are.
● Our Founder
Meet myra
Mrs. Myra N. Richardson is the founder of Baton Rouge Updates, 225Fest, and Red Torch Consulting, three powerhouse platforms that all share one heartbeat — connecting culture in the Capital Region. A Baton Rouge native through and through, Myra believes that life here is best experienced through good food, great people, and stories that deserve to be told. After creating one of the largest festivals in the Capital Region — 225Fest, which drew over 14,000 people in its first year and over 60,000 folks to date — Myra realized that Baton Rouge needed something more permanent than a once-a-year celebration. So, she built Baton Rouge Updates, a space that keeps the city connected every single day, from downtown lunches to Friday night live music and everything in between.
But make no mistake, Myra isn’t just about the party — she’s about the “MPACT”. As the founder of the award-winning Red Torch Consulting, she’s helped brands, chambers, and communities across Louisiana shine brighter. Her work has been featured on CNN, Essence, and The New York Times, but her proudest moments are right here at home — helping Baton Rougeans from every walk of life see themselves in the story of their city. With a laugh as contagious as her passion and a vision as bold as her red lipstick, Myra Richardson is redefining what it means to live, love, and connect in the Capital Region.
